Community Buyback FAQs

What is Community Buyback?

Community Buyback is a program offered by Secured Tech to K-12 School Districts that offers them the opportunity to sell their retired student issued devices back to the community at a discounted price.

The school receives the majority of the sales to put back into their tech budget and the devices stay in the school district’s community.

Your purchase supports the school and your community.

Are the devices refurbished?

The devices are not refurbished, they were already in good working condition. Each device goes through an 80-point diagnostic test*, is data wiped, restored to factory settings, and cleaned. They also come with a 30-day limited warranty.

What does the warranty cover?

The limited warranty covers any technical defect within the 30-day warranty period.

This limited warranty applies to hardware components of the device that are not subject to any of the following: accident, misuse, neglect, fire, or damage from other external causes, alteration, repair, or commercial use.
